  • Build the organisation value equation
  • Structure the business model canvas
  • Discuss how the digital revolution is creating new kinds of business models and therefore new opportunities

SESSION 3: Strategic Choices

“Corporate Strategy”


  • Analyse a portfolio of business units and judge which to invest in and which to divest
  • Recognise ways in which a corporate parent can add or destroy values for its portfolio of business units.

SESSION 4:  Strategic Moves

  • Identify the appropriate choices between organic growth, M&A and strategic alliances.
  • Identify key success factors and challenges in the successful management of M&As.
  • Explore the concept of ecosystems, and how it can boost an organisation’s financial results.

SESSION 5: Strategy in Action

  • Understand how the strategic process works.
  • Explain some of the challenges of managing strategy development, and how to tackle them.
  • Understand what is meant by deliberate and emergent strategy development.
  • Discuss the ideal strategic process.

SESSION 6: Strategic Choices and Methods

“Putting Everything Together”

  • Analyse strategic problems using strategic management analytical frameworks and concepts.
