My Journey

After completing a Master’s degree in Business Law through an apprenticeship, I specialised in Corporate Insolvency Law and obtained a University Diploma. My first professional experience was in a judicial administrator’s office. I undertook this training just before starting my new job, which involves supporting industrial companies with over 50 employees.

My Training Project

My goal in joining EDHEC’s Corporate Finance Certificate was to achieve a dual qualification in law and finance, enabling me to provide comprehensive advice to companies. Additionally, the international perspective and the fact that the courses were conducted entirely in English convinced me to enrol. It was a complete departure from my comfort zone.

Choosing the Certificate

I chose this certificate for several reasons:

  • I was looking for a programme focused specifically on Corporate Finance.
  • The course is quite accessible. Enrolment is very straightforward. The implementation process is easy and quick. I showed interest in the course at the end of August and started in September.
  • The format is short (10 weeks) but intensive.
  • The training is 100% in English.
  • Finally, I wanted to undertake a course at a business school with a certain level of prestige to perfectly complement my academic profile.

This certificate allowed me to solidify my financial skills and my professional English. I enhanced my financial expertise with an added international perspective. The case studies were practical and involved consolidated accounts under IFRS standards of large groups. I also took the opportunity to improve my professional English. Although it was challenging at first, particularly in following the Live Classes with our Academic mentor who spoke no French, it provided complete immersion. The past weeks have been intensive and difficult; it is essential to work on every exercise, even those that are not graded. The level is high and matches the school’s reputation. Personally, I found it challenging to balance the training with an already busy schedule.
