Meet Sarah-Alicia Maravilla, a Software Quality Analyst at Cognizant and a current participant in EDHEC’s Online MBA. Currently living in Spain and having previously lived in Ireland and Canada, she brings a global perspective to her academic journey. Discover her career aspirations and how this programme is helping her achieve her goals and grow on an international scale.
Why did you choose EDHEC’s online MBA programme?
“I chose the Online MBA programme with EDHEC Business School because it allowed me to keep working, while fulfilling and growing as a student on a more professional level. Also, the EDHEC Business School stood out to me because it’s one of the best global business schools nationally and internationally, with people who are responsive to my goals and my business project.”
How do you see this MBA advancing your career goals?
“I really hope to be able to embrace new career opportunities within Europe since I love working, and I’ve already worked abroad. I would love to, for instance, move towards a career as a business analyst, maybe in the luxury field, and I really hope to achieve that and to get the necessary council guidance as well as the strategic tools with this programme. But I have no doubt that I’m at the right place to achieve that.”
What are your expectations for the online MBA at EDHEC?
“Since it’s going to be a two-year online programme, I’m really counting on the alumni which is also amazing because we are part of it from day one, unlike other business schools, which I think is pretty amazing. Also, I am really looking forward to getting all the counselling and mentorship that are, I believe, necessary to advance in our careers. Additionally, the human empathy, the presence of the professors, all of that makes the EDHEC Business School one of a kind, a worldwide business school.”
A piece of advice for professionals considering pursuing an MBA?
“I strongly encourage anyone, regardless of the path they’re on or the moment they’re at in their career, whether they’re young, with a few professional experiences, or like me, with a little bit more experience and activities, who are maybe wondering if they want to embrace a change of career, to just give it a go. It is an investment of time and, of course, a great opportunity. It is a lot of work, but I believe in the end that it’s worth it, and I’m very much looking forward to it.”
